This was the Official Match Ball of the FIFA World Cup™ 2014 in Brazil.
In 2014, the name of the official match ball was selected by the public: Brazuca was selected with 70% of the total votes ahead of ‘Bossa Nova’ and ‘Carnavalesca’.The design was inspired by Brazilian Culture and nature. Brazuca was the first ball with its own Twitter account – tweeting constantly on his journey to the World Cup. The ball had 2.76 million followers and sent over 640 tweets.
The Brazuca was constructed using thermal bonding technology and had a bonded carcass and butyl bladder. The ball featured a new panel construction which utilized six interlocking geometrically identical panels.
The final match ball Brazuca Rio came in a special green and golden design.
