The 2002 Fevernova featured a refined version of the synthetic foam layer, which was successfully introduced with the Tricolore four years before. 

The colorful and revolutionary look and color usage of the adidas Fevernova™ was entirely based on the culture of the two host countries, Korea and Japan.

    A three-layer, knitted chassis gives the Fevernova improved three-dimensional performance characteristics, allowing for a more precise and predictable flight path every time. The Raschel knitted materials were manufactured with new machinery, unique to adidas.

    The ball also features a perfected weight/circumference ratio. Extensive tests with the robotic leg at the adidas football laboratory in Scheinfeld, Germany, proved the unprecedented accuracy of the Fevernova. The adidas Fevernova exceeded all FIFA standards.
