DISCOVER
The FIFA World Cup™ 2010 was the first ever to be held on the African continent. The name and design of the official match ball paid tribute to the host nation: Jabulani means ‘to celebrate’ in the South African language isiZulu.
Regarding technology, this ball featured eight thermally bonded 3D panels which were spherically molded to create a nearly perfect sphere.
HIGHLIGHTS
The carefully placed lines and grooves provided the ball with aerodynamic properties never seen before, making it the most stable and precise ball created to date. The Grip'n'Groove profile not only increased precision for passing and shooting, but also ball control.
There was a golden version for the final match which was called Jo’bulani and represents a mix of Jabulani and Johannesburg, the venue of the final.
